Virtual visit.

A virtual visit is a clinical encounter between a patient and provider conducted remotely — typically synchronous video, but the term is sometimes used for phone visits and structured asynchronous reviews.

What a virtual visit actually requires

Reliable connection, identity verification, documentation of the visit, ability to prescribe or order, and post-visit follow-up workflow. Each of those needs to live on the same ledger as the rest of the patient record.

Why the term can be ambiguous

"Virtual visit" sometimes refers strictly to video; sometimes more broadly. Operators evaluating platforms should pin down which modality is supported, how it integrates with documentation and prescribing, and what compliance posture sits underneath.

Operator-grade infrastructure.

A platform that runs the operation, not a checklist that describes it.
